Integrated natural disaster risk management:comprehensive and integrated model and Chinese strategy choice

The integrated natural disaster risk management(INDRM) has become an important strategy and model in contemporary disaster management.It is a comprehensive,holistic and integrated approach that fits in all types of natural disasters,all the phases of the natural disaster management and focuses on disaster risks and hazard-affected body's vulnerabilities,i.e.the underlying conditions of disasters,and emphasizes multi-level,multi-dimensional,multi-disciplinary coordination.This paper introduces the concept, the essentials of the integrated disaster risk management,discusses the rationale and countermeasures of the integrated natural disaster management and proposes the implementation strategies for the integrated natural disaster risk management and suggestions on implementation of the integrated natural disaster risk management in China.
