A new precipitation method for the preparation of alumina nanopowders

A new technology for the preparation of nano alumina powder by precipitation method has been introduced.Ammonium carbonate is used as precipitation agent and a kind of polymer is used as dispersant.The nano alumina powder has spherical shape and has the size of 5～6 nm when calcined at 800 ℃ and 8 nm at 1 100 ℃.The affects of pH value of precipitation solution,concentration of reactive solution,temperature of calcination and the content of dispersant on the properties of nano alumina powder are also discussed.
