tlooto Summary

Trifluoromethylthiolation is a growing area of study due to its importance in pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals and materials, with new progress and synthetic challenges being described.

Abstract

Abstract Compounds containing trifluoromethylthio group (SCF3) play an important role in pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals and materials due to its strong electron-withdrawing effect and extremely high lipophilicity. Very recently, trifluoromethylthiolation has received a great attention. In this review, the new progress of direct trifluoromethylthiolation is described. Furthermore, the synthetic challenge for trifluoromethylthiolation is also discussed.
