Abstract

This paper deals with Maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithms for standalone hybrid power generation system. Because of the instantaneous changing nature of solar temperature and insolation level, it is necessary to determine the optimal voltage that ensures the yielding of maximum energy. The optimization of photovoltaic energy generation can be performed by integrating the MPPT in the inverter control design. Perturb & Observe (P&O) and Adaptive Neuro-fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) are applied. The comparison shows the effectiveness of the ANFIS controller in terms of controlling the voltage level as well as the minimization of harmonic level. The hardware design for the hybrid wind/photovoltaic system has been developed and the software model has been designed using MATLAB/SIMULINK.
