3D scanning technique reveals significant positive correlation between crotch quantity and hip cross-section thickness, affecting shorts' structural design.
Abstract
In order to study the impact of structural design of important parts of shorts on the dressing shape,TC23 D scanning technique was used to collect point cloud data. The typical cross-section curve was fitted by RBF neural network. Then we extracted the width and thickness of each typical cross section of the shorts as well as the distance value between body surface and shorts at every 15°. Finally, correlation analysis was used for data processing. The results show that: among sample parameters, the crotch quantity has significant positive correlation with the thickness of hip cross-section. As the crotch angle increases, the cross section of abdomen circumference and the cross section of hip circumference tend to wider flatter and thicker narrower, respectively. For ease allowance, crotch quantity has influence on crotch and thigh sections, while crotch angle has influence on waist, abdomen and hip section. As the crotch quantity increases, trouser legs have forward tendency. As crotch angle increases, waist, abdomen and the back side of hip of trousers are closer to body.
