Public Private Partnerships in Australia: An Overview of their Nature, Purpose, Incidence and Oversight

The various partnership relationships used by Australian governments to deliver infrastructure-based services are examined for distinguishing between different public private partnerships (PPP) models that have evolved in the local context. The results of empirical study into all stand-alone performance audits PPPs undertaken by Australian auditors-general in the period between 1994 and 2006 are presented.
