Genetic polymorphisms of 12X-STR loci in Guangdong Zhuang population

tlooto Summary

All of the 12 loci in Investigator Argus X-12 system showed highly polymorphic in Guangdong Zhuang population, serving as a reference basic data for personal identification and paternity testing.

Abstract

Objective To evaluate the genetic polymorphism and forensic application of 12X-STR loci in Zhuang Population of Guangdong Province. Methods Allele frequencies for 12X-STR 1oci in 200 unrelated Zhuang individuals(100males and100females)were determined and the genetic parameters for forensic application were calculated. Results No deviation of the observed allele frequency from Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium expectations was found.DXS10103 and DXS10101were found to be in linkage disequilibrium.143 alleles were observed and allele frequencies varied from 0.0033 to 0.6433.The polymorphism information content(PIC)varied from 0.3944 to 0.9159.The power of discrimination for male and female(DPm and DPf)ranged from0.4815 to 0.9214 and from 0.6441 to 0.9884,respectively.The mean exclusion chance for duo and trio cases ranged from 0.2625 to 0.8501(MECduo)and from 0.3944 to 0.9159(MECtrio),respectively.The combined power of discrimination was0.999999998 in males(CDPm)and 0.999999999 in females(CDPf),and the combined mean exclusion chance was 0.999998271 in duo cases(CMECduo),and 0.999999989 in trio cases(CMECtrio). Conclusion All of the 12 loci in Investigator Argus X-12 system showed highly polymorphic in Guangdong Zhuang population. This study of allele frequencies would serve as a reference basic data for personal identification and paternity testing.
