DNA tests in Hu sheep and Han sheep (small tail) showed the existence of Booroola (FecB) mutation

Thirty six DNA samples from Hu and Han (small tail) and Xinjiang fine wool ewes were prepared to detect the Booroola(FecB)gene by forced restriction fragment length polymorphism PCR (FRFLP PCR).The results showed that the Booroola gene is present in both Hu and Han sheep: All twelve Hu ewes were homozygous,four of Han ewes were homozygous,seven were heterozygous and one was none carrier for FecB .All twelve Xinjiang sheep tested non carrier for FecB .
