Decline of Ranid Frog Species in Western North America: Are Bullfrogs (Rana catesbeiana) Responsible?

This work reviews the factors cited as having caused the decline of ranid frog species native to western North America and presents explicit statements of four major alternative hypotheses: bullfrog introduction, habitat alteration, predation by intro- duced fishes, and 4) commercial exploitation.
