Preparation and Properties of Chitosan/Gelatin/Nano-TiO_2 Ternary Composite Films

Abstract
Nano-titanium particles was treated with anionic surfactant detergent SDS to prepare Cs/Gelatin/nano-titanium dioxide composite films by solution method, the films obtained were characterized by FTIR,XRD,SEM,TEM,optical trasmittance, percent water absorption, the measurements of mechanical properties and antibacterial activity. It was found that there was hydrogen bonding interactions between chitosan , gelatin molecules and titanium dioxide nanoparticles. To induce gelatin into the films can increase their tensile strength in dry state and breaking elongation in wet state but decrease the tensile strength in wet state and breaking elongation in dry state. The proper content of titanium dioxide nanoparticles can make up for the defectant above .and also find that the antibacterial activity of conposite films decreases with increasing gelatin content but increases with nano-titanium particles increasing content.
