Abstract
Summary A review of isoflavones, plant derived hormones and sterols in the care of the skin. The effects have been shown to include protection of the skin, the reduction of wrinkles, reduction in inflammation and a decrease in pruritis. In some commercial raw materials, there has been improvement in breast and skin firmness and reduction in sun burn cell reaction. Internally, these plants are used for reducing the incidence of hot flushes and other discomforts in menopausal women.
