Preliminary Analysis of Therapeutic Effects of AFO on Tiptoes of Children With Cerebral Palsy

Objective To quantitatitvely evaluate the improving state of the tiptoes of the children with spastic cerebral palsy before and after put on ankle-foot orthotics(AFO). Methods 24 children with spastic cerebral palsy were assessed after put on AFO for 6 months. Results 48 feet were evidently improved-notable effective rate accounted for 25 percent,improving rate accounted for 65.58 percent,rate of no avail accounted for 10.42 percent. These data had significantly statistics difference as compared with those before put on AFO(0.001).At the same time, we found the improvation of standing and walking for sick children. Conclusions AFO can correct the tiptoe and improve the function of limb of the child with cerebral palsy.
