Abstract
Objective To explore the epidemiological characteristics and risk factors of hypertension in the residents on islands.Methods Hypertension morbidity,risk factors were investigated in 1 174 people (above 15 years old).Results (1) The morbidity rate of hypertension (MRH) was 31.69% ,and the age-standardized MRH was 14.96%.(2) MRH increased progressively with age and rising markedly when above 40 years old.(3) Risk factors relative to hypertension included age,higher BMI,hyperglycemia,higher blood lipids,senility,hypertension family history and drinking history,but not sex,smoking,edible salt intake.Conclusions (1) The incidence of hypertension went up drastically in the residents on islands.(2) The onset age of hypertension was advanced.(3) The main risk factors included higher BMI,hyperglycemia and higher blood lipids.
