Abstract
Objiective To explore the effects the relationship among endothelin (ET),nitric oxide (NO) and oxygen free radical (OFR) and the pathogenesis of acute pancreatitis (AP).Methods The contents of plasma ET,NO and activitiy of super-oxide dismutase(SOD) were measured by the method of radioimmunoassay in the blood samples from 71 patients with acute pancreatitis,15 normal controls (NC).Results The levels of ET and NO were increased,while the level of SOD was decreased significantly in AP as compared with NC,there was significantly difference(P0 01).The levels of ET and NO were increased significantly in severe acute pancreatitis(SAP),while the levels of SOD decreased,there was obviously difference(P0 01),compared with mild acute pancreatitis(MAP).Conclusion The abnormal growth and decline of the plasma ET,NO and SOD might play a key role in the development of AP.
