Abstract
The structure and specific composition maerl beds from Tossa de Mar is established starting from a series of samples collected with autonomous diving equipment. The species/area and diversity/area curves are analyzed; on the basis of previously established structural parameters (BALLESTEROS. 1986) the complexity of the system is evaluated. Data on irradiance, temperature and nutrient's availability are presented too, as a result of an annual cycle.
