Abstract

Aiming at 125 pieces of embroideries from Yi Nationality collected in Shanghai Jinze Arts Center,this paper organizes then from three aspects(color,pattern and technology) to explore the beauty of Yi Nationality's embroidery.The patterns are various with rich implied meanings and changing technologies.All these are the characteristics of Yi Nationality's embroidery.Yi Nationality's embroidery is mainly in black and red.Various primary colors are used.The color matching is bold and lively.The patterns mainly involve animals,plants and natural phenomena with auspicious implied meaning.Flat embroidery,cross-stitch and applique are mainly adopted in Yi Nationality's embroidery.Moreover,this paper appeals all walks of life and especially people from the Yi nationality should value the traditional culture,protect and inherit intangible cultural heritage-Yi Nationality's embroidery.
