Abstract
In recent years,as one of economic instruments to solve ecological and environmental problems,ecological compensation is subjected to social attention and recognition.Theoretical and practical research on ecological compensation has experienced more than half a century in foreign countries,and shown many successful examples.Based on discussing about concepts and basic theories,the paper analyzes development characteristics of ecological compensation in different fields and summarizes practices,experiences and deficiencies in different countries.Consequently,it is to provide reference and enlightenment for building ecological compensation mechanism in China.
