tlooto Summary

The article discusses changes in family dynamics due to education and urbanization affecting marriage, requiring adequate changes in family relations.

Abstract

Before we begin with the problem, it would be worthwhile to take note of the changes in our ethos during the last 25 years or so, because it is in the background of this change that the changes in the family become intelligible. This change, for our purpose, relates to (i) the spread of education among the females with its impact on marriage and (ii) the growth of urban centres. Cumulatively, they have generated a climate in which the family can survive only if adequate changes are brought about in the relations between different members in the family.
