Shelley’s Jewish Orations

Discusses P. B. Shelley’s attitude to Jews in the context of early nineteenth-century antisemitism, and in the light of two fragments in which Shelley speaks in the person of a contemporary Jew. First publication in the West of a little-known Shelleyan fragment, together with a full textual commentary. Diffusion of work carried out at the University of Tokyo Library in 2006.
