tlooto Summary

Georgian archaeological institutions conducted large-scale investigations of post-prehistoric to pre-mediaeval sites in Western Georgia from 1980-1990.

Abstract

The present information is an attempt to continue the report published in AR 1983-84. As distinct from that earlier one, this report surveys the work done by the Georgian archaeological institutions in both the western and eastern parts of the Georgian Republic (Fig. 1). Large-scale investigations of the remains of the post-prehistoric to pre-mediaeval period were continued in Western Georgia (the area of ancient Colchis). Sites on the Black Sea coastal line have been intensively studied.
