tlooto Summary

The Peniarth MS. 7 version of Peredur Son of Efrawg should be regarded as part of a larger cultural context rather than incomplete.

Abstract

In studies of Peredur Son of Efrawg, the Peniarth MS. 7 version should not be regarded as incomplete but rather as part of a body of material with its own cultural cross-referencing, often unstated but understood. The later White Book of Rhydderch version is an autonomous story bearing its own separate significance and revealing a more authorial, text-based attitude to story.
