Archaeological activity in Western Asia Minor increased from 1965 to 1970.

Abstract

The increase in archaeological activity throughout Asia Minor has been most marked in the last half dozen years. More work has been done in the field, and more has been written at greater length than ever before. It is with some diffidence that we offer another survey of archaeological progress in Western Asia Minor in succession to those of i960 and 1965. We cannot rival the wealth of information provided by our 'docta comes' Machteld Mellink in her comprehensive, well illustrated annual survey of Anatolian archaeology in American Journal of Archaeology; and we note that reports from the excavators themselves are
