Research Progress of Electrospun Silk Fibroin Nanofiber Materials and Their Modification

Abstract
The silk fibroin nanofiber materials fabricated by electrospinning have the advantages of large specific surface area,high void ratio,and good biocompatibility etc. So,they have wide application potential in the field of biological medicine. However,the low crystallinity and poor mechanical properties of silk fibroin limit its application. Modification of the silk fibroin nanofibers has been a hot issue in the field. This paper mainly reviews the research status of pure silk fibroin nanofibers prepared with different solvents for electrostatic spinning and the research progress of modification technology of silk fibroin nanofibers in recent years. The potential applications for these nanofiber materials have also been expected.
