Influence of m(S)/m(C) and sand gradation on compressive strength and fluidity of CA mortar

Abstract

Effect of m(S)/m(C) and sand gradation on compressive strength and fluidity of CA mortar was studied by changing the sand cement ratio and the proportion of two kinds of sand with different particle sizes. The results show that the fluidity of both low strength CA mortar and high strength CA mortar decreases with the increase of m(S)/m(C),but the fluidity's changing extent of low strength CA mortar is not significant. The compressive strength of high strength CA mortar decreases with the increase of m(S)/m(C),while the changing trend of low strength CA mortar is opposite.Using complex of two kinds of sand with particle size of 0.42-0.21 mm and 0.85-0.30 mm in CA mortar can elevate the compressive strength and improve the fluidity. The most suitable ratio between them is 6∶4.
