Abstract

The present contribution analyzes, in a first part, the di- fferent institutional conceptualizations of landscape, mainly in Euro- pe, with special reference to European Landscape Agreement, also, study of landscape character, in relation with the British experience. The second part of the paper studies the instruments of urban and territorial planning in Spain referred to the landscape, with a brief reference to two study cases: Menorca Island and the Campo of Criptana landscape mills.
