Effects of the corrugated inclination angle on heat transfer and resistance performances of plate heat exchangers

Abstract

The basic flow patterns in the corrugated channel of plate heat exchangers is described by experimental data available. The corrugated inclination angle is of principal influence on performances of plate heat exchangers. It has been proved by analysis, calculations and experiments that the plate with smaller inclination angle may has approximately the same heat convective coefficient as that with the larger one, provided that their pressure drops are equal. The key point to select plates for heat exchanger correctly is to match “heat -flow- resistance" thoroughly.
