Violência e abuso sexual na família

This article reports on the experience of supervising and providing care to families who have experienced intra- family violence a nd who were referred to p sychological care following suspicion o r denouncement of child sexual abuse committed b y close relatives. It reviews this experience in the light of reflections arising from the practice in view of the conflicts, impasses and difficulties faced by professionals and families concerned. The type of intervention proposed here has three major characteristics: 1) it i s based on a psychosocial approach 2 ) it proposes a family group treatment including the assailant and 3 ) it i ntroduces the gender perspective, a historically prevailing factor in the c onstruction o f violence a nd domination/exploitation relationships within the family.
