Abstract

This work shows the geographical distribution of the archaeological evidence of the Guarani in southern Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina and Uruguay. The major goal is to prepare a map of the Guarani territories until the 16th century A.D. The data base, comprised solely of archaeological sites, is under construction. Historical data will be included in the future, to offer a synthesis of the settlement process and dynamics (including territorial expansions and retractions).
