Revision of Gratitude Questionnaire-6 in Chinese adolescent and its validity and reliability

Objective To revise the Gratitude Questionnaire-6(GQ-6) in Chinese adolescent,as well as to investigate its reliability and validity.Methods Using preliminary survey on 511 middle school students,and formal test on 1 396 middle school students,among which 205 students completed the test again after 4 weeks.Statistical analysis of the study was using SPSS 11.5 and AMOS 7.0.Results The exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis showed that the revised GQ-6 had the same six-item single-factor structure with the original questionnaire,and the model fit better.In addition,the criterion validity of GQ-6 was sound as well(β1 =-0.40,β2 =-0.41,β3=0.30,P0.01).Moreover,the external consistency reliability,the split-half reliability coefficient and retest reliability coefficient of GQ-6 were 0.81,0.82 and 0.70 respectively.Conclusion The revised GQ-6 has good psychometric properties and is an effective tool to assessing Chinese adolescents' gratitude.
