Reflexões

In this article, we reflect on the use of comic strips in Portuguese teaching through descriptors. Our aim is to show how the use of the comic strips has proved to be a promising material for the development of reading competence. For this, we base ourselves on studies on the comic strip genre, guided by the bias of Textual Linguistics, we interest in Ramos' works (2012, 2013, 2017, 2018). About humor techniques construction, we used assumptions of Possenti (1998, 2018) and Travaglia (1992, 2015). About reading skills and descriptors, we used the work of Carvalho (2018). This is a qualitative study, with an exploratory content which also involves bibliographic survey. The results have shown us how the strips can be an effective resource for the development of reading ability through descriptors.
