Transit

Transit refers to the many evolutions the landscape of the former mining city Genk has gone through since the second industrial revolution in 1870.1 It also refers to a type of van that was manufactured in the Genk Ford factory between 1960 and 2000. Both the coal mines and the factory were closed in the past decade, leaving the landscape radically transformed on a physical, ecological and social level.2
