Impact of cerebrovascular and cardiovascular diseases on mortality and severity of COVID-19–systematic review, meta-analysis, and meta-regression

Highlights • Cerebrovascular disease was associated with mortality and severity of COVID-19 (borderline).• Cardiovascular disease was associated with mortality and severity of COVID-19.• Gender, age, hypertension, diabetes, and respiratory comorbidities did not influence the associations• The association between cerebrovascular disease and poor outcome in COVID-19 was not affected by cardiovascular diseases and vice versa .
