Come le generazioni delle foglie, così anche quelle degli uomini: nuove ipotesi sulle due iscrizioni bilingui dal municipio di Thignica - Aïn Tounga

As the generations of leaves, so the ones of  men: this paper focuses on two bilingual epitaphs (in Latin, with an epic final verse in Greek) from Thignica, Ain Tounga - Tunisia which are discussed in a completely new perspective. A new hypothesis is here cautiously presented on movements during war time and heroes’ tombs placed at a short distance from the sanctuary of the great god Saturn-Kronos. Thignica was the gateway to the ancient pertica of the Augustan colony of Carthage. Finally, in the background emerges the role of the legion III Augusta acting with hostility against the Senate.
