Večfunkcijske vezniške besede ki, ka in da ter njihova skladenjskopomenska vloga v vzhodnoštajerski pokrajinski različici slovenskega knjižnega jezika

The article analyzes the syntactic-semantic function of the connecting words ki, ka, and da, which in the first half of the 19th century in the East Styrian area are recognized as mul­tifunctional words distinct from the rest of the Slovenian language area. In order to determine the supra-dialectal, literary character of the words’ observable semantic functions and forms, a diachronic analysis of selected East Styrian texts is given, especially from the 18th century, followed by an overview of the normative use of connecting forms and a comparison with their use by Prekmurje, Kajkavian, Central Styrian, and Carniolan writers of the first half of the 19th century.
