Research on Traffic Stream Characteristics of Urban Expressway

By using real-time traffic flow data detected by traffic information collecting system on urban expressway in our country, the paper analyzes the dynamic characteristic of traffic flow; and contrasts the transverse distribution characteristic of the flow, density velocity of the multi-lane sections; at last, the paper compares several steady traffic flow models that are suitable for urban expressway, and estimates the value of parameters. The research of this paper can provide scientific basis and data support for the layout, design, operation, management and evaluation of urban expressway.
