Abstract

With the theme of ‘Linking Health Professions Around the World: Cooperation in Education, Practice and Research,’ the World Congress III of the Health Professions was conducted in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where over 180 attendees gathered to hear presentations and papers on topics related to international health care. This is the third Congress to be held for the allied health professions with the Ž rst Congress being held in Elsinor, Denmark (1988), and the second Congress in Telford, England (1997, co-sponsored with the University of Wolverhampton). The third World Congress was co-sponsored by the Association of Schools of Allied Health Professions and the University of Puerto Rico. Dr Estela Estape, Dean of the College of Health Related Professions University of Puerto Rico, was host for the meeting and under her leadership, a number of international associations assisted in the planning and provided support for the conference, including:
