Abstract

ABSTRACT In the present short review of manufacturing techniques of metal matrix composites (MMCs), aluminium and magnesium MMCs are reviewed in terms of their application and properties. Additionally, the various manufacturing techniques are elaborated to develop the MMCs. It is found that the global demand of MMCs is increasing year by year due to their major application in most of the industries. The application of MMCs in various industries are based on the desired properties of end component. The desired properties of MMCs can be achieved with the shape and type of reinforcing materials along with their physical conditions. Additionally, the selection of manufacturing method is also an important factor to achieve desired properties. Therefore, the various section of present manuscript compiles the details about A and Mg MMCs and their methods of manufacturing.
