Abstract

The issue starts with the paper “High-Performance Thin-Layer Chromatography Profiling of Jarrah and Manuka Honeys”. This is the first comprehensive fingerprinting analysis using high-performance thin-layer chromatography (HPTLC) of non-sugar honey constituents using multiple honey samples of the same floral origin. This is also the first in-depth analysis of the typical phytochemical composition pattern of Western Australian Jarrah honey. As has been demonstrated in this study, HPTLC allows the analysis of 14 samples plus a reference standard on a single HPTLC plate, following a simple one-step solvent extraction with an average development time between 10 and 12 min and minimal solvent and reagent input.
