One shared collection feeding one draft. Illustrative.
Every research group knows the pattern. A PDF is emailed, renamed, annotated and emailed back. Someone keeps a reference list in a spreadsheet. The draft is final_v3_JK_edits(2).docx. And the student who joined last month cannot find the paper everyone keeps mentioning.
Shared Library collections
In tlooto, papers live in Library collections. Keep a collection private, or invite members by email for shared access, and control member access after you publish it. A lab can keep one collection per project, so everyone reads from the same set and a new member starts with the whole reading list on day one.
Collections are not just storage. When you ask a question, you can choose which collections to include, so answers draw on the papers your group has already vetted.
Share the thread, not a screenshot
When a report answers a question well, share it. A shared report keeps its citations clickable, and a colleague can ask a follow-up on the shared thread instead of starting from zero. The reasoning travels with the result.
One draft with live citations
Manuscripts in the Research Editor keep citations as linked objects, so when a co-author moves a paragraph, numbering and the reference list stay correct. When it is time to circulate a version, export to DOCX or PDF.

A lightweight lab routine
- One Project per paper, with the protocol and data files attached.
- One shared collection per Project; new papers go there, not into email.
- Share reports that answer team questions, and ask follow-ups in the thread.
- Export a dated DOCX only when a version leaves the group.
